Cluster Membership Improvements in Apache Ignite 3.0
Apache Ignite 3.0 is the next major version that aims to modernize and simplify Ignite while maintaining its flexibility and performance advantages. One of the significant architectural improvements in Apache Ignite 3.0 is cluster membership, i.e. the mechanisms that allow the cluster nodes to form a cluster and stay connected. The Discovery protocol used for this in 2.x is replaced with new, improved protocols that provide better scalability and stability, especially with large clusters. In his talk, Aleksandr will overview the new cluster membership and lifecycle mechanisms and how they compare to the Ignite 2.x’s Discovery. - Ignite 2 discovery pros and cons: cluster size, ring throughput - ZK discovery pros and cons - 3.0: SWIM and ScaleCube - Cluster coordinator in 2.x vs. 3.0 - Cluster lifecycle changes
